• more inclined to serve than I was last year?
• more loving and forgiving than I have ever been?
• less judgmental than I have ever been in my life?
• closer, somehow, to the God of my understanding than I was in the last hour?

An answer of "no" to any of those questions calls for a bit more polishing.
