"A test cannot tell anybody who I am."

"A test does not define a teacher."

"My daughter is more than a test."

"These are our kids."  "My child." "Our school."

I've heard these same sentiments over the last few years expressed by
students I love,
parents I know,
teachers I work with,
administrators I admire,
politicians with moxy.

They are, in fact, OUR kids.  And no one will love them as much or want for them more than the family and friends in their own community.  (Certainly not a bunch of politicians or entrepreneurs in some far away city, state, or country.)

If you feel the same way, you can PUSH BACK.

How?  It has never been easier to call your state representative, state senator, U.S. Congressman, and U.S. Senator.  Their names and phone numbers are about two clicks away on the internet. It takes about 45 seconds for each call (less time than it has taken to read this blog post and view the video).
 
Keep the message simple and clear:  More local control for schools, less standardized testing.

Our children are more than a test.
